May 2, 2026 – 02:00 PM to 03:00 PM

Supriya Crocker, RCC, MTA, will explain and explore therapeutic songwriting within a trauma-informed care framework.
PLEASE ONLY REGISTER ON THIS PAGE IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND IN-PERSON! In-Person Registration link here: Workshop Description This hybrid workshop supports music therapists in thinking more clearly about how therapeutic songwriting fits within a trauma-informed care (TIC) framework. Drawing on my master’s research and over a decade of clinical work with people in recovery and those processing childhood trauma, I explore how specific elements of therapeutic songwriting align with each core TIC principle. We’ll start with a brief, accessible overview of therapeutic songwriting and trauma-informed care, then move into practical insights and applied examples. Participants will leave with shared language, clinical clarity, and concrete ideas they can use to more confidently frame their work as trauma-informed—particularly in recovery and group settings.
