The Bachelor of Music Therapy program has an ongoing, part-time position for a certified music therapist and experienced educator. This person would be responsible for teaching music therapy content and practicum courses, so a clinical work history with a focus on children and youth would be an asset. These courses are only offered in-person.
Qualifications and Experience:
· MTA certification – with the Canadian Association of Music Therapists, or equivalent international certification (e.g. MT-BC);
· Masters in Music Therapy or equivalent graduate achievement;
· At least 5 years as a working clinical music therapist with a variety of populations, with an emphasis on children and youth;
· Excellent musicianship;
· Excellent self-awareness and insight; and
· Excellent interpersonal and team skills

Duties: Private Music Instructors teach third- and fourth-year music therapy students lessons in individual 30- or 60-minute lessons weekly for 10 weeks, attend faculty meetings, and assist with end-of-semester juries.
Qualifications and Experience
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy;
MTA – Accreditation with the Canadian Association of Music Therapists;
A minimum of 5 years clinical working experience in music therapy (post-internship);
Excellent voice musicianship
Excellent self-awareness skills due to the transference nature of the students in an individual lesson format; and
Excellent interpersonal and team skills.
Preferences:
Music Therapy experience with a variety of populations; and
Strong piano and guitar musicianship.
