Featuring Dr. Laurel Young, Conference Keynote Speaker
Saturday, October 20, 2018
8:30 am – 5:00 pm
Capilano University, Library Building 321 and 322
This year on October 19th and 20th, the conference committee was proud to host the 11th Annual MTABC Conference at Capilano University. This year’s theme, “Moving our Profession Forward: Re-conceptualizing Canadian Music Therapy within an Evolving World” drew a large number of attendees. Dr. Laurel Young travelled to Vancouver from Montreal to deliver an inspiring keynote presentation on how to move our profession forward.
Leading into the conference, an interactive and networking social was made available the night before to allow attendees to meet one another. Saturday’s conference not only included an exceptional keynote presentation but also many other informative presentations. Presenters included Marni Brechin, Katherine Deane, Kristen Morrow, Meaghan Jackson, Michele Santanove, Deborah Seabrook and Odeya Nini. The conference was concluded by a panel on advocating for Music Therapy work, delivered by Susan Summers, Lisa Mullaly and Laurel Young.
Special thanks to the MTABC Board, Conference Committee, volunteers and sponsors in making this wonderful weekend successful! We hope to see you for the 12th Annual MTABC Conference!
