Last month’s annual MTABC Conference was a tremendous success; a deep thank you and congratulations to everyone who was involved! It was a weekend of deepening relationships and learning from one another. Our key-note speaker, Carolyn Kenny, offered two moving presentations- an intimate discussion at the Friday night social, as well as her key-note speech on Saturday, entitled “Web of Life: We are All Connected.” Carolyn was joined throughout the weekend by a plethora of other amazing presenters, including the Intuitive A Cappella Choir, Lorri Johnson, Carolyn Neapole, Liz Moffitt and Noele Bird, and Kara Stanley and Simon Paradis. Each presentation brought its own unique flavor and message and touched on subjects such as working with seniors, addressing burnout, and connection to the voice, among others. The conference was brought to a close with a panel presentation revolving around the challenges and benefits of using iPods in music therapy work, with presenters Carolyn Kenny, Meg Goudreau, Valerie Weeks, and moderated by Susan Summers.
This year’s conference yielded a wonderful turnout, with roughly 125 participants in attendance. A big thank you to our volunteers, sponsors, presenters, and conference committee for all of your work putting together such a wonderful conference. And a special thank you to the MTABC board for your support. We cannot wait until next year!
