Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Music Therapist to join the team at the Hilltop House Long Term Care Facility in Squamish, BC. Apply today to join our team!

As a Music Therapist with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

  • Develop, implement, co-ordinate and evaluate music therapy programs.
  • Maintain an active clinical caseload providing assessment, treatment, documentation and education.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and approved research, provide formal and informal consultations to other staff and supervise and evaluate the work activities of music therapy practicum students and interns.
  • Collaborate with the Manager regarding operational issues as related to the provision of music therapy.

ABOUT HILLTOP HOUSE:

Hilltop House is located in Squamish, BC, approximately one hour north of the Vancouver lower mainland and accessible on the scenic Sea to Sky highway. The area hosts an abundance of recreational activities such as mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing and kayaking, as well as a growing arts and culture scene. Hilltop House is a 61-bed long term care facility for seniors with complex needs. It provides home-like care for its permanent residents, as well as respite care, a community bathing program and adult day care for seniors.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Music Therapy.
  • One year of recent, related experience.
  • Eligible for full, accredited membership in the Canadian Association for Music Therapy.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to supervise.
  • Ability to interact effectively with others.
  • Ability to organize workload and set priorities.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
