We are seeking a passionate and dedicated part-time music therapist to join our Richmond studios team. Our studios serve a diverse range of clients, including neurodiverse children, adolescents, and adults, as well as individuals with mental health and other diverse needs.

We pride ourselves on fostering a collaborative, supportive, and close-knit team environment. As such, we are seeking candidates who are genuinely interested in building a long-term role with us. Job Parameters:

Number of Hours: 10 hours total: 6 hours/week (effective immediately), 4 additional hours (effective May 1)

Days:

Effective immediately:

Wednesdays (3 hours)

  • 3 clients (weekly)
  • 1 hour, 1:1 sessions
  • 3:15-6:45pm
  • day and times are non negotiable as there are current clients in the slots that will be transitioning over to you.

Fridays (3 hours)

  • 3 clients (weekly)
  • 1 hour, 1:1 sessions
  • 3:15-6:45pm

Starting May 1, 2025:

Wednesdays (4 hours)

  • 4 potential clients
  • 1 hour, 1:1 sessions
  • 8am-12:30pm
  • day and times are non negotiable

Site: Richmond Studios: 3688 Cessna Drive, Richmond

Session Format: Individual Sessions

Training Period: effective now (2 weeks paid training)

Start Date: Immediately following training completion

Requirements:

  • Applicant must have an avid interest & passion in working with autistic individuals, and other neurodiverse children, teens and young adults with diverse needs, as well as mental Health clients.
  • Applicant should have/but not required to have: experience working with autistic individuals, those with diverse needs
  • Applicant must be creative, driven, energetic
  • Applicant must have high stamina and a strong work ethic
  • Applicant must have strong and dynamic skills in piano and guitar, including improvisation
  • Applicant must be confident in using their voice acapella and within structured interventions
  • Applicant must have strong music theory knowledge and application
  • Applicant must have strong team collaboration skills and enjoy being part of a team

  • Training in, and on going use of: the Meet In The Music© – music therapy curriculum
  • Provision, Supply & Maintenance of: music instruments, materials, props, other session manipulatives
  • Provision of session site
  • Provision of cleaning/ health supplies (masks, cleaning supplies)
  • Ongoing curration of new clients
  • Ongoing connection meetings with para- professionals for referrals & ongoing relationship maintenance of funding bodies and charities
  • Ongoing supervision of sessions & professional consultation
  • Ongoing provision of professional development training & financial coverage of external learning opportunities
